I am beyond frustrated right now mamas..... Friday night and most nights my daughter will go between 5-6 hours of sleep, she has for about a month now (minus the 2 or 3 nights of her growth spurt)... last night at my in laws (we have a house on their property) we were all talking (my one sister in law came down for a visit) and my husband says "I've told her we need to start giving Emory a bottle with a little cereal in it or feeding her cereal at her last feeding so she will sleep longer" ... I'm exclusively breastfeeding, only giving a bottle when I am away from my kids, which is rarely (the last time my daughter flat out refused the bottle, I was using the bottles that came with my breast pump). since she refused the bottle 2 or 3 weeks ago, why would I try and give her one at night? also I don't want to start cereal until she is 6 months (she is 4 months today: woo-hoo :) ) but I can't ever seem to have an opinion and my husband doesn't seem to suggest he more or less says this is what is going to happen, he says it's so I can get more sleep at night, which I think is bull seeing as 90% of the time he doesn't even know I get up with her.... I'm currently up sitting get in the living room with our daughter because she woke up (she just ate not even 2 hours ago) and wouldn't go back to sleep, she has been up 2 other times; once at 1 and once at 3:40. all I can think is: this is giving my husband more "ammo" (for lack of a better term) to try and push the bottle and cereal issue.... yes we started our son with cereal at 4 months however he was on formula by this time (I had been pumping and I caused myself to dry up, tried fenugreek and that upset his stomach and I didn't have a stash in the freezer).... I am on verge of tears, have been since I went back to bed after the 3:40 feeding time... he makes me feel like I'm a horrible mother for not making her sleep thru the night, I don't care honestly she is my last child (I have a 2 year old son and then my daughter) which that is a whole other can of worms there..... I honestly don't feel sleep deprived, I think between feedings and such last night I've gotten about 7 hours I actually feel great lol and he doesn't realize if I do the whole cereal thing and she sleep 9 hours, how much pain I am going to be in from my breasts being so full..... sorry for such a long post, and another rant on top of it; I just feel like I don't have anyone to talk to because I feel of I try talking to my husband he will just be like "well don't you want to sleep?" (he usually says this anyway) I knew breastfeeding I wouldn't get much sleep lol but apparently he didn't realize I can handle this.... well mamas thanks for "listening" to my rant this morning lol I am hoping the day will get better and I hope you all have a great sunday, and if you are planning to watch enjoy the Super Bowl :)

I'm sorry to hear that. Men can be so controlling. Just do what you feel is best for your baby. Have a good day! I hope it brightens up for you.

I would just prop her on the couch with you. The move to the bed might wake her lol get it as much sleep as you can

my daughter is 6 months old and doesn't sleep through the night anymore. she was breastfed for 2 months until she refused to breastfeed and I tried to pump and she refused the breastmilk. I've tried rice cereal with my daughter it f doesn't work for her at all.

My son will be 1 on the 27th, he still doesn't sleep through the night...
cereal in his bottle doesn't help and he eats food pretty good too. he just isn't a good sleeper.
cereal in bottle doesn't work for all babies...
my daughter was sleeping through the night at 6 weeks.
I just hope I can get this boy of mine sleeping through the night before the new baby is here

I'm also worried that since she is only 4 months it will upset her belly

yeah, what works for one baby won't work for every baby
had to start my son on cereal at 4 months per orders from pediatric gi because he was severely constipated, my thoughts were it would help him sleep, but definitely didn't
I would say if you feel good and feel rested just keep doing what you are doing!
at this age the breast milk or formula depending on the mom is the most important
