you CAN get a test kit though and it will tell you if you have a yeast infection. if it's negative, probably bv

Yeast infection itches and is thick and white like cottage cheese while bv may have a oder and is thinner

I just got treated for bv last month. its way different than my experience with a yeast infection.. it was thin constant white discharge with an odor .. kind of an ammonia smell to it. when I had a yeast infection it was really thick and white but no odor and extreme itchiness

A yeasty is pretty easy to tell. Chunky white discharge, itching, also your vagina has a tendency to feel dry since the discharge has clumped together. BV discharge is very thin and has a grayish appearance. Also what you can do is take a small amount of discharge and rub it between you finger tips until it goes away and give it a smell test. But like @emily18234 said Monistate does sell an over the counter tester you can place in your vagina and it tested your pH

I have a yeast infection, go monostat 7 and that's prescribed from the doctor and yes u can buy over the counter, if it's a yeast infection it will be very itchy! whereas bv usually just smells bad
