My Southern friends.. How worried should I be about going to Florida next week with the Zika virus??…

It hasn't been found officially in the US, yet. But I would definitely wear long sleeves and pants and wear bug spray. In the winter, the bugs aren't much of a problem. Usually only in the summer

The mosquito's that carry the zika virus are common in Florida and if i was you they say to delay going to Florida. right now they are trying to treat it there. I wouldn't take a chance.

@mamamiia28, Hi I live in fl and there has been confirmed cases in fl on the virus but as long as you wear proper attire and have bug spray you should be fine .

@2hearts, the news said 12 people had it bc they traveled out of the states but there are currently NO Zika mosquitos in Florida so I think I'm safe

I live in pensacola and mosquitoes are resistant it seems like i can never kill them . But when im in jacksonville I dont have an issue at all . The weather here has been a little weird but they are not out like they would be if it was in the summer . Those cases that we have are of women who traveled out of the US . There is plenty of bug spray here and just being long sleeve and short sleeve and you should be fine .
