for mommies with Gestational diabetes what do they do to you when you go in for a doctor visit?! I haven't got my result but I'm positive i have it and I wanna be prepare for it!
There's still a lot of yummy stuff to eat. I loved fat free cottage cheese with fruit for a snack lol. It isn't really that bad. Im just happy mine was mild and they allowed me to go a couple of days over my due date.
ohh really?! sorry I really unform about all of this for my first born I didn't have to worry about this, it's going to be hard since I love sugar:/ but I know its for my best! @heatherornelas
No, it isn't anything to do with baby. It's a "miscommunication" between the placenta and you. Basically, it just makes baby extra fat. They want you to eat healthier so baby won't have to come early due to size. Honestly, it sounds scary, but it's really fine. It just sucks that you can't have sugar and have to monitor your carb intake.
thank you so much @heatherornelas I'll keep that in mind I just gotta wait until Monday to get my result, I'm just scared my baby will not be born healthy! :(
I have to meal plan, check my sugars, and I take glyboride to help with controlling my sugar levels. They will also schedule you NST's (non stress tests) and monitor you A LOT. It's no big deal as long as you follow the meal plan. If you have any questions, i don't mind answering them!
I had to see a high risk Doctor every week and she just checked my numbers on my sheet for my blood sugar. They didn't take blood every week or whatever
Depends if it is mild or not. Mild (I had it), they gave me a meal plan and told me how many carbs I can have per meal. Also need to poke your finger 4 times a day to check your blood sugar. Non mild, I am sure you have to get insulin shots and also eat according to meal plan.
