OK, so my fiance works a decent job making around $46,000 a year and I'm a server making about $2000 sometimes less/more a month. Well, I'm due in May and our bills are tight! Any suggestions on maternity leave since my job doesn't offer a maternity leave at all. I live in MN, but I don't know what we'll do. My fiance can pay all of our bills, but we won't have anything left over for food, gas, baby stuff etc. I'm freaking out!
I've lived in Minnesota for a couple months and they won't help me with any kind of benefits because I haven't gotten a license here yet even though I have mail to prove my address it's ridiculous I Lost my job last month and we have been struggling so bad but they won't help me because I don't have my license switched
I owe taxes too, see, I'm screwed! but yes, @shandy69 it is very difficult and if you miss one simple lil paper, it takes another two months, or you need to reapply. So, rough!
I live in Minnesota as well. Trying to get any help in this state is a joke! Put some of your taxes aside :)
I actually owe them $600 from "over payment" my previous job closed down suddenly and I found a new job immediately, but I still collected UI for the two weeks I want receiving any income. So, I doubt they'll help lol!
See if the unemployment website will help out. I'm not 100% sure if they do but it's worth a shot
Good to know. I have WIC and they asked about my SO finances. I'm worried they won't help me with rent etc. I just want a month off work, two would be ideal, but probably impossible. It's so nerve wracking! I'm trying to get food stamps, but they gave me $40 a month a few months ago (apparently I make too much).. Ridiculous!
Apply for food stamps under your name until you can get back on your feet. That will at least cover food. Also apply for wic they will help with formula and stuff like that or if you breastfeed you can get a free pump after baby turns a month.
Yeah that's really dumb. Can u get an I.D. and show them the yellow papers that its in process and show them your mail and lease agreement?!
