here what I do cause my dog is family too...I give my dog a bath with shampoo that kills fleas and their eggs at least once a week...wash dog bedding and vacuum everyday...eventually they will disappear...I used to spray carpets but with baby I don't. also I use the flea protection you put on them. they also have the kind in pill but not sure if you would have to see a vet. the shampoo is key tho...because it is supposed to last two weeks and kill both flea and eggs so eventually they should die out. my dog never got them too bad as I can tell right away when he gets them. good luck.
