@mcorron, you're right! You can if you don't mind them rolling up and fraying, I prefer the more finished look you get from sewing it.

you can also just cut the feet off of your socks

They're so super easy to make! You can use a sewing machine or do it by hand and they're so much cheaper than buying them.
