I think I might ask... the first time I was std tested with just a cotton swab I was hysterical for an hour and had breathing issues due to how much I was freaking out. @izzysmommy1003

Well do whatever makes you comfortable. It's their job to make u as comfortable as possible.a pap would probably be best to make sure everything is good down there but it's all up to you girly

If you're scared of a pap, you're really gonna be in for a ride when it's time to deliver.

there's going to be people down there your entire pregnancy and delivery. you could always ask, but it might be a better idea to just try and get past it because its inevitable.

And yes, people will be all up in your biz during delivery. But that time comes *when it comes*. I feel more comfortable with that than I do with a pap. After I go through childbirth, I'll probably be a little more okay with checkups down there but until then, only hubby gets access.

I feel like people being in your business to deliver a baby is WAY different than an unwanted metal object ... and that gives me more time to still try and work past the fear @mommarodey oh, and I've had myself std tested before, a cotton swab still gives me anxiety but I'm able to get through that and am willing to do that. just the rest terrifies me

As for the women basically saying get over it. Why even comment? Obviously I'm trying to work past being raped and I'm just not ready for something like that. I get that people will be down there HOWEVER I'm only almost 10 weeks so I've got a while to get through my fear. So unless you have something helpful to say why don't you stop telling raped victims their fears don't matter @snooks. @mamabear2016

Exactly! And when it's to deliver your child, there's a reason and an awesome reward. Way different than "because it's what they always do". I've read a lot about Pap smears and when/if they're necessary. This article helped me.

thank you so much! that article is helping put my mind to rest. I'm going to ask and just say that I'll get a regular std test just to be sure in that aspect of things. or if she will just do a regular std test. Especially the first time seeing her... I'm sure she will understand. @mommarodey
