just found out my hospital doesn't do water births...why didn't I ask them that before I made that my birth plan?! cause being pregnant makes you looney that's why...stressing out now and very discouraged. I absolutely do NOT want a bed birth, simply because I'm going natural. I'm afraid without gravity's help I'll cave and have an epidural. I need to be able to walk and move.... I need some advice or ideas :(

As long as you don't have an epidural you'll be able to move as you please

the beds also break down a bunch of different ways, let your midwife or ob know know you don't plan on laying on your back to give birth

You can use a medicine ball or do lots of walking during labor. I walked around and other times was on my side. However, I did turn to my back to push him out. I don't think that's necessary though. Talk to your OB and your hospital. (Side note: our hospital did have showers and jets- didn't use it though)

i dunno about everywhere but i dont think they can make you do anything...if you wanna push that baby out while standing in the middle of your birthing suit or leaned over your bed, or however. lots have showers and a bathtub. its you're game girl. you decide what you want & dont let them tell you otherwise. good luck mama

I am also planning to go natural and I've been reading. A book on hypnobirthing it's wonderful.

I'm doing it all natural at my hospital. I'm going to bring a ball and whatever else I want. I'm telling my dr if they don't let me do what ever I want (walk around, get on the floor, in the shower) I will leave and have it at home. You can also buy a birthing stool.
