ugh!! this cold that is going thru our house is driving me batty.... my daughter has had it for about 2 1/2 weeks or a little less, just when I think she is getting better she gets all congested with a slight fever all over again; I've done the Vicks baby on her feet, sitting her in the bathroom while the shower is on, I suck the ick out of her nose 2-3 times a day..... my son had it really bad for a day, fever and everything put vicks on his feet and his vaporizer on in his room and he was pretty much better the next day..... now I have it, I do the vicks at night for me as well.... I just wish my daughter could get rid of it, she doesn't eat as well when she is like this, plus is a bit more fussy... any other suggestions on what I can do for her?

you should change your vents.. everytime we get sick i replace the vents.. i would bleach the light switches door knobs throw away tooth brushes when u get better and buy new ones.

I have new toothbrushes, I never thought of that.... our furnace filter is changed every month to month and a half (my husband owns a heating and cooling business lol) we also have a germicidal lamp in our furnace and a whole house humidifier running lol I think my daughter and I keep passing it back and forth with breastfeeding, not 100% sure, of course I also have only had it 3 days

I use clorox wipes on everything lol I just cleaned the bathroom with them last night lol

Well, definitely keep breastfeeding. The antibodies your little girl needs to fight the illness gets transferred to her via breast milk.

@hitt_andrea, I will definitely keep it up.... I had a 24 hour flu when she was about 3 weeks old, my lactation consultant said "whatever you do, do not stop nursing, it will keep her from getting whatever it is"

@sarahdrew, Gotta love a good lactation consultant! My little girls pediatrician said the only time you should stop breastfeeding because of an illness is if your illness hospitalized you or you feel like you physically can't.

@hitt_andrea, exactly..... if I was in the hospital I would have my husband bring her in for at least one nursing session a day and pump the rest of the time unless my illness needed meds that would be passed and harmful.... I love my lactation consultant, she gave me her cell number and said she didn't care if it was 3 in the morning, she sleeps with her phone on vibrate under her pillow so it doesn't wake her husband lol

@sarahdrew, I got a good lactation consultant that gave me her personal cell number too! (:
