Maybe you could try talking to him & explaining it before your next appointment together. Tell him you love his mom & it has nothing to do with her, but that you'd just like to have some of these moments to yourselves, as a new family starting out, & as a couple in love and having their first child together. (If this is your first & if not same rule applies, just say for this new addition to your family or something.) 🙂

That is kind of rude of him but I also understand why he'd want his mom involved. I'm not sure): I'd probably just bag him about it at the point around the next appointment. "Honey, we've got a baby appointment this day, only you & I are going this time okay?" "Remember, dear, OUR, as in Yours & My appointment is this date." Etc.
