I don't feel that way at all. If you are raising a child by yourself then yes, you're a single mother. But if the father or someone else is stepping up to be the father of that child no, you're not considered a single mother...

I think as long as the dad is still involved in you and the child's life, you are not a single mother!

to me a single mother is someone who is raising the baby BY HERSELF... as in he is not in the picture at all..

lol marriage isnt a piece of paper tho.. its they ultimate commitment a couple could make to each other IMO..

Yeah, don't listen to the post girl, I agree with @inkedkedbarbie marriage is just a piece of paper! The only way I see her saying a single mother, is if her and the guy are together but he's not involved in the child's life. Meaning, he doesn't want anything to do with the child, and the women does everything on her own.

@theinkedbarbie mmm i dont think a children is a bigger commitment than marriage.. dont think they can correlate. only reason i say this because the government makes it soo EASY for the man to leave his child and even easier for the woman to abandon her child.

I agree with @theinkedbarbie I explained what she meant and I agree yes marriage it's self is a sacred thing, the piece of paper you receive is not. thats true... i try not to get offended when marriage is downplayed because i LOVE the idea of marriage.. getting married in 6 weeks .. its scary and life changing.. i feel like its different for me being someones wife than his gf .. but thats me.. im not bashing others who feel otherwise lol

thats the ONLY thing that bothers me with couples who are in longterm relationships without that piece of paper lol.. i try to tell my bestfriend all the time.. you been with this man for 8 years had a baby.. you need something to protect yourself. .. if something happens he cannot vouch for you and vice versa.. you cannot make any decisions or have any right to carry out final wishes.. important stuff..

I guess... but that's just stupid crap man created that's not God's doing.... and technically if you have a will yes they can decide if you have them listed. I have a living will and disowned my exhusband and both parents it says in my will if something happens to me Joseph is to decide and knows what to do.@lilfree16, just my opinon though. I've been married before that piece of paper means nothing. he still cheated and still hurt me. so no i believe in the good old fashion way get married before God with a pastor the paper doesn't matter.

in not so much worried about the actual license lol in probably going to lose it lol but you sound like my fiance .. im just like let's hurry this wedding, he's excited to do it before God and everything ..

the first time I went to the court house but with my booger, we are doing it before a pastor. that was my only request @lilfree16

cant you like still go through with it? i know ive seen a sign for dicorce when the other spouse doesnt want to sign. . ask your lawyer
