I need some advice please! My grandmother in law just insisted that she buy a big ticket item for our baby shower. We do need a car seat but I am a ftm and don't know much about the pros and cons of a car seat plus I don't want her to buy a super expensive one. She wants me to pick one out and send her the one I want... Help please?!?

if you're a first time mom I would accept the help. I wanted to get it all myself because I felt like it'd make me look like a bad mom if I didn't but soon realized I could use the help being offered. My sister and sister in law have helped me with a lot of the big stuff.

no not the Britax! my boys were miserable in it! they cried everytime we put them in it. I now have the evenflo triumph lx platinum and they don't fuss or cry!!!

This is what my bigger boy looked like in it, he's only 17lbs and it says up to 35lbs! no way he would fit and be comfortable in it! The top one is his new car seat that goes from 5 to 65 lbs.

Britax also just had a recall on them here within the last week. We got a Chicco Bravo travel system with the Chicco Keyfit car seat. We love it! It has no recalls on it, is super lightweight, and comes in a variety of different patterns! Here is ours

I would definitely accept the help. That's one less thing you need to worry about. And if it makes you feel better ask her if you guys can go together. That way she won't get something you hate.

well the recall was just a handle but if you look at the pic I posted in these comments it shows how a 17lbs baby looks in it, he wasn't happy lol! @mrsjessicamattern I read a lot of comments of ppl saying they hated the Britax.
