Wish we were allowed to receive more ultrasounds of the baby! Seems like Drs don't do as many as they used to, or maybe it's just me lol. Haven't seen our Prince since we were 20 weeks! 🙄🤔 grateful to feel him so active though!

the FDA wrote a statement on there website regarding the matter have issues having to many ultrasounds if they are not medically necessary. there have been studies that show ultrasound causes the cells in the fetus to vibrate at a higher rate, generating heat that could potentially cause problems if the ultrasound is used too often.

ultrasounds are safe. I am high risk and have gd so I get an ultrasound every week. there just has to be a medical need to get them often or insurance wont pay.@cupcakesandbows, @taylor86
@babyg407, wow! That's a lot, and yes I'm sure it's gotten expensive. I wonder if I'll get one at 32 weeks as well. When are you due? I'm 30 weeks now, feel like our due dates might be close 🙂
@lovely17 hmm wonder why things changed. My ob just hasn't mentioned it, I'm assuming I'll get maybe one more closer to my due to check and see if we are ready for labor!
I'm not high risk and I have had about 6 so far. I like seeing her but my insurance doesn't cover them all so it's getting to expensive. I had 3 for dating, a NT scan, 2 anatomy scans, and will have another one at 32 weeks which is in 2 weeks.
Might be true, I wasn't expecting one every appt but maybe another one at my 8 month check up wouldn't hurt. Again I'm just so grateful he's active! @cupcakesandbows
@Lovely17 how long ago was it since you've had your daughter? And yeah my friends had babies after High school I feel like they've gotten more than 2😕 lol

No its not just you i feel the same way! i have so many ultrasounds from when my daughter was born now it's like they do one and feel they don't need to keep doing them anymore smh
insurance won't pay for alot of ultrasounds unless there is a medical need for it
