I think the Internet and advanced technology have us Preggies entirely too paranoid. Every mild discomfort leads to a million questions. It cannot be simple gas--is the baby moving? Am I miscarrying, the cramps are bad. Should I eat this? Is this safe??? Because we can have then at request (and/or purchase), we want constant ultrasounds "just to see my baby in there!" & fetal dopplers so we can have a quick listen for our own peace.
Then...when the babies are finally born and free of all the interference we perpetrate toward them in the womb...here come the gadgets! The crib/bouncy seat/Mamaroo/tummy mat/Pack & Play/bassinet/co-sleeper all designed so we can immediately begin fostering independence. After all that fawning and (at times) plucking the baby's nerves, desperation to make sure every little thing is just like in the books--we've got baby on display in our/their latest gadgets and devices.
I wonder if I would have had an easier go of it this round if I didn't have access to so much. 😧 I have enjoyed this pregnancy but I think l, minus the anxiety from tests and technology, I would have actually truly reveled in it.
Just my thoughts, taken it how I gave it. 😄

I 100% agree. Definitely look into attachment parenting ❤️ sounds like it would totally be right up your alley! More about following our instincts as mothers and less about following Western cultures "norm" of constant technology, baby contraptions, sleep training etc. ❤️

@kmally, I'm totally invested in attachment parenting!!! It worked wonders for my daughter. My husband is from India, and that is the norm within his culture. Neither of us is into the norms and such aside from health perspective. Of course we want them healthy. But the while race for milestones, hurrying them into being tiny adults? No. We let the kids get dirty. We let them make messes. They need a hug, they get a hug. Baby wants to nurse, then I will drop everything and nurse. 😄 I'm looking forward to it. I'm totally an elephant mom. And slept training? Nooooooo lol I plan to allow this baby time to develop his sleep habits. I'm not in a rush for him to sleep all night. Babies don't stay babies forever.

@kmally, I love you too! EVERYBODY calls us weird or overly protective. I don't see it that way. The kids are so well-adjusted, I couldn't see raising them another way. I don't judge other way, I just know what works for mine.

I agree with you! Everyone in my family is always trying to get my 5 month old to walk. They started that at 3 months and I'm like could you guys stop? Just let her be she'll walk when she's ready. I do use some of gadgets such as her jumperoo but she loves the dang thing lol! People are always so anxious to say oh my baby did this at this age and I'm just like cool

The gadgets are pretty awesome @santistevanmommie I know my baby will probably like his little bouncy thingy be a use he loves when I'm moving around now. But why rush them to walk or talk or run? I want em to stay little and innocent until they naturally grow up.

I feel the same! Whenever they do that with her I'm just like could you stop please? She's just not ready. I want her to have a fun baby hood there's no rush for her to be bigger I enjoy these times right now
