My son was on rice cereal for reflux, I use the dr Browns bottles and had to cut the nipples for the formula and rice to come out. The opening is too wide now (he won't suck hard enough unless I make the hole too big) which in turn has back fired because now he eats too fast and spits up anyways! I just started him on similac spit up (it has rice starch already added) he seems to be having minimal spit up so far which is nice since his reflux is so bad. I would talk to your daughter about maybe getting on a spit up formula (from what I read it's supposed to be more nutritionally balanced than adding the rice cereal.)
I have to with my daughter. She's three months now, but have used cereal for about a month. I wouldn't advise cutting the nipple, but getting a size up. I use Dr. Brown bottles, size two nipple when I give her cereal.
