I had a short cervix too...they gave me pregestrone vaginally and I took that up until 36 weeks I believe! I was on bed rest for two weeks then I went back to work...I went full term...I actually had to be induced!

I went to the doc and he basically said to relax and not stress. They gave me my first shot of steroids today and I have to go tomorrow for my 2nd shot. As for stitching me up idk I didn't ask about that yet

No a capsule I'd Inserted vaginally and I also did a test every two weeks called the fibronectin test I believe...to see if I may go into labor but it always came back negative

If the test came back positive then I would have to go get a shot of the steroids and come back the next day to get the second one! It was to late for me to get a cerlage ( that's when the stitch your cervix) and they told me that there's a risk the placenta may rupture during that procedure so would of opted out anyway.

I take progesterone weekly and I still shortened and am now I believe 1cm dilated I'm only 25 weeks progesterone doesn't really keep you from anything it's a hormone so try to rest a lot and don't do anything literally it's a strict bed rest that is going to suck but at this point you don't even wanna sit up it puts pressure on the cervix and also can push baby even lower I'm still in the hospital and I'm sure when I leave here I'll be ok strict bed rest

@mimiz, thats not alway true a friend of mine had it done way after 12 weeks she also went into preterm labor witch they also stopped and she had to be induce at the end but its diffrent strokes for diffrent folks

True my doctors just said there is that risk she can also get a pessary which is put in at later times @mommycheeks
