I was arguing with a woman today about being overweight while pregnant. This woman said that being overweight or obese during pregnancy is a form of child abuse and neglect, and that those women should think about that before having children. She said you should be at the right place on the BMI scale before having children or you are neglectful.
Well, first of all...There was a time when I played soccer and ran cross country at the same time in school. I was running 5-6 miles at cross and then going to soccer practice, and eating healthy foods. At 180 pounds and a height of 5'9'', I was overweight by BMI. A "normal" weight for my height is 165 lbs. I was devastated and hated myself for being fat. I was NOT fat, I was quite thin. My pre-pregnancy weight made me technically obese and while I may be/have been chubby, I was not huge at all and I have been perfectly healthy my entire life.
Second...not everyone plans to get pregnant? What are those women supposed to do, have an abortion?
Lastly...I have a childhood that I don't want to share, but her saying a loving mother being a bit overweight makes her a child abuser REALLY pisses me off. That is by far the worst thing you could do to your baby, I can say from experience.

@hermommy, I know! I mean look at me, like I said I'm technically obese. I'm not even huge but she says that I'm automatically unhealthy and a bad mother.

ppl r crazy I am over weight I have been all my life from birth I love my kids & will never let anything hurt them but ik someone who is 120 lbs has 7 kids & is in jail she doesn't have rights 2 her kids so I guess she a better mother bc of her bmi girl I think it's funny as mess may God bless this women with a fat strick lmbo

girl I'm technically obese because Im maybe 5 foot and that's being nice lol I'm suppose to weigh around 98-110 glad she feels that way though lol stupidity at it finest, just ignore her neither of us are fat😈@shayleesimmons

I don't believe there should 'lbe a BMI scale, Muscle weighs more then fat it's that simple. and idk about you but i was built muscular I've been this way since I was little the scale is stupid lol@shayleesimmons and judging by the sports and things you did your the same
