Got my 6 week pp checkup next week. Really am thinking about getting the birth control implant…

From someone that's terrified of needles i thought it hurt lol. But looks like your pretty comfy with needles.. if you can get a tattoo on your chest you'll handle that needle like a champ! 💪

@floress_j, I do well with tattoo needles but I freak out at getting shots and getting my blood drawn. heck, when I was getting the epidural I felt like passing out. LOL 👋😤😂 but okay thank you

it didn't hurt for me they numbed it first I had mine removed after a year and a half because I basically bled almost the whole time it sucked it wasn't always heavy but I felt like I was always spotting I would also get this fleshy discharge which was the shedding of my uterus which was scary after previously miscarrying . the only good thing was I stopped having really bad cramps ( I used to get them so bad!) and I didn't get pregnant while on it so it did it's job lol but I just couldn't take the constant bleeding but some people have better experiences than I did

@mrscruz0530, oh, woww. that sounds scary ): yeah I was gonna get back on the birth control pills but I heard it can reduce your milk supply and since I'm breast feeding I do NOT wanna risk that

If i remember correctly i think they i inject a numbing medication first and then go in with the actual implant needle @mommytomia

yes it's scary but I'd rather tell you then you go into it blindly! but you might have a positive experience with it so is worth a shot and yes not worth risking that! also just don't look when they put it in is not very pretty lol

I had the same experience as you @mrscruz0530 I didn't even last a year with it.

Ya it sucked! but some people have no problem with it they're lucky! my doctor tried convincing me to keep it in but I demanded that they take it out @floress_j

I don't blame you but who knows how your body will react that's just the thing :/ and the only other bc I've had was nuvaring which I don't think you can use while breastfeeding because the medicine can pass to your baby which we don't want either . I'd say condoms and talk to your Dr or do some more research cuz in not sure about the risks of others

Yea i dont know the risk of others either. The only ones i had a good experience with were pills & patches.

I have the iud and I breast fed my daughter tell she was one no problem :)

I currently have it and has had it since May and I'm getting it taken out in March because I been bleeding the whole time and gained a ton of weight . I was back to my pre baby weight well smaller until I got this . It has a lot of bad reviews @mommytomia

it doesn't hurt and it works great I loved it I'm planning on getting it after birth. every body reacts different to different birth control methods. my experience was great and o didn't gain any weight. :)
