Oh gosh...mommies. If you are throwing up more than 5 or 6 times a day, go in. PLEASE. Your potassium and electrolyte levels HAVE to stay steady. I thought I was having a regular day with hyperemesis and could do as I normally do--drink extra fluids and rest. I ended up dehydrating; my anti-emetic didn't work because I couldn't keep it down long enough. On top of the contractions from being so dehydrated, my baby sits on a nerve in my hip so when I'd try to walk, that and the sciatica would knock me off my feet. I'm sporting a bruise on my bum as we speak from my legs giving out in the ER, but today all is well. Ajani is staying put, and I'm here resting up, getting fluids & potassium. I'm a little upset about the Ambien (I don't like meds) but I was exhausted, and I needed to sleep or I'd probably pass out from sheer force of being tired. I'm up now, scrolling posts and waiting for my doctor to come in again. 😊 Chuckle moment--one side of my butt is warm, and the side I landed on when I fell is cold. Heated mattress plus ice pack lol

@theinkedbarbie, I hate it too. The protein and potassium drip STINGS. And it makes a funny taste in my mouth lol But I'll probably be home again in a day or two. 💗

I'm glad y'all are doing better. This pregnancy has put your body through so much! Only a little while longer. I imagine your contractions must have been really bad being so dehydrated

@rhonda.otero, goodness yes! They weren't consistent but it was so painful, I was CRYING. Like, sobs. I'll have to be here another day or two but I feel SO much better. No pain except my back. Contractions stopped, no further dilation.

Awesome no further dilation! Sucks you have to stay but at least you and Ajani are being monitored so there's a lot of peace of mind in that

@rhonda.otero, yes, I'm much more peaceful here even if I hate it lol I've been having such a hard time sleeping. Like, it's been nearly impossible to get more than an hour or two. I won't allow Ambien frequently but I'm not upset about the dose anymore.

Lol it's funny trying to sleep in the hospital is the worst! When I was pregnant with my daughter I stayed almost 5 weeks and they woke me up 1 too many times and I snapped and left and the doctor called me to come back so I had a 4 hour vacation during my stay... It's just like a month of that every 3 hours is absolute torture, poking and prodding I'm surprise you are getting any rest at all

@rhonda.otero, that Ambien took me out the long way. I can naturally sleep thru SOME stuff but they're only to take my temp if I'm awake and lucid...and my doc was kind enough to request bidaily readings unless they have reason to think something is amiss. He noted that I'm supposed to be asleep at least 10 hours (riiiiiiight) so they haven't begun torture yet. Problem is there's tons of monitoring so I'm tethered to the bed.

Im so glad you are resting up. I know how hard it is to sleep in the hospital! I am pretty sure I would be upset about the Ambien too, I hate taking meds when Im not pregnant, never mind when I am. Its pretty difficult to get me to. Has to be something serious. I think you're probably in the best place you can be right now, and although its hard being away from your hubby, at least you know you and the baby are well ☺

@sarahemccormick, that stuff had me knocked out for like 12 hours. I woke up a little scared because I was so groggy. I miss being at home with hubby, but he's staying with me at nights until they let me out. And it was a relief to see the kiddos this evening! I miss them a lot. This is temporary, and I'll concede 38 weeks if I must but I'm still hoping against hope he can stay full term. 😄
