Super frustrated. My doctor is an hour away and he forgot to give me my shot. I will have to go back to get it.. I swear.. That's their job to look at my chart and see that I need it. I had to look it up to see when it's needed which is at 28 weeks(since I couldn't remember. It's been 6 years since my son was born) and I'm 27 weeks now. He could have given it to me while we were there a couple days ago. Ugh. @babymay2016
Wow that is really frustrating 😔 I got diagnosed with a UTI at the ER, two days after my appointment... which is totally different but so annoying. If it's such a BIG deal why didn't they test me already. Caused me so many back and forth trips for no reason. Gah they're stupid.
Are any of you delaying or delayed cord clamping because of your RH factor? I read that it's better for you if you wait until you deliver your placenta to cut the cord because it reduces the chances of blood contact @alyssabrittany @babymay2016 @bri31212 @haetleymama
Haha right... and I have not thought of that. The reason they give you the shot is so that it won't be dangerous if the blood mixes at any point from 28 weeks until birth, and then they give you another shot after.
Yeah. It keeps your future pregnancies safe as well. Once you get those antibodies you'll have them forever. Not sure if I'm having any more after this but if I do I want to make sure it's safe @babymay2016
You should see if it's something she recommends for you @bri31212 personally I wanted to delay cord clamping anyways since that's blood that needs to go to the baby.
I'm not sure if it's the same but last time I had the opposite blood type of my son so he had to stay at the hospital 2 nights under the light because he was at risk for jaundice
yep I'm rh negative. .had a miscarriage 3 years ago and found out while at urgent care that I was and they gave me the shot and told me that if you get it within 48 hours or so of when you were exposed to positive blood *my miscarriage * than your future pregnancies would be safe. then I convinced my son 4 months later and he's healthy.. had an eptopic pregnancy that had to be removed by emergency surgery and they gave me the shot after that too.. a year later we conceived the one I'm carrying now and I'm 17 weeks along so even if exposed you can have healthy pregnancies if treated in time.

I can honestly say I've never heard of that, I'll have to talk to my midwife about that.

Some doctors are for it and some aren't. It's a personal preference. It's interesting and worth looking into 😊 @babymay2016
