I need advice...
boyfriend and I just got into a fight. he feels that my mother shouldn't be around for my first ultrasound nor be in the delivery room while I'm giving birth. he's been trying to pretty much call the shots on my appointments.
my first doctors appointment, he didn't want my mom to come but she came anyways because I wanted her support. I mean she HAS been pregnant before.
I feel like he is trying to do what he wants "traditionally", but I wasn't raised like that. I do not feel like he is considering my opinion in the matter... am I wrong in this situation??

My opinion, Moms been there since day one, she deserves to be there.

@ginabee93, unfortunately not in my case but her support still makes me feel better. regardless, I feel that she should be welcomed.

@jessgtz92, true. @sashasnoww me and my mom had the worst love/hate relationship ever while me growing up to the age I am now. (22) honestly there's no other love like a mother and daughter have, regardless of what has happened.

girl my relationship with my mom was the same. it's improved A LOT through the years. been through soooooo much & all she does is show me every single day more and more how much she will always be there for me but fir my daughter 💖💖

my mom won't be there when I go into labor, because she really never was a mother to me. but traditionally I feel like the mother has always been there with her daughter during stuff like this. and ultimately the doctor will ask YOU who you want in the room, he has no say.

@jessgtz92, after we found out I was pregnant it brought me and my mother closer together.

You are definitely not in the wrong! If your mom is wanting to be there than let her. Your boyfriend needs to realize it's a really good thing, because not everyone has a mom who is willing to be there though the whole pregnancy!

I'm having my mom and my boyfriend hasn't voiced any issues with it. We are really close too and I think that if you want her with you to make you feel more comfortable you should do that! my mom makes me feel more comfortable. You are the one who has to birth the baby after all should be up to you!

@sashasnoww, you are the one who is going to be in labor, yes its his baby but you're carrying him/her, he should take that into consideration. Maybe he's a bit hurt or jealous and feels like he's not good enough to support you alone, I would try to reassure him he's just as important and you need support from both of them.
