they use pitocin it's medicine they put on your iv. I'm a ftm too but I've seen my sister give birth 3 times, they give you this medicine and it helps your uterus contract so that you dialate, I've also heard that it's more painful, but every mom and every labor is different. my sisters last child didn't even hurt her

With my first pregnancy they induced me. I had to go to the hospital the night before and they started the morning by breaking my water in hopes it would induce contractions. After an hour of no progress, they used the pitocin which slowly started the contractions. I have no frame of reference to tell you it hurt more or less than normal labor, but it did get very painful very quickly haha.

The worst part was I wasn't able to eat breakfast, or anything at all since 7pm when I went in the hospital, except ice chips. Cruelty, I say! Lol. But the good news is, I had a relatively short labor for ftm's (11hr). Idk if you're planning on going natural or not, but my saving grace was my epidural. I wasn't dilating until after I got it because my body was so tense from the contractions. I'd tried to go natural but after 9 hours of no change and increasing contractions, I gave up. Hour and a half later, it was time to push and 15m later he was out (:

I was induced with my last child, got there at 5AM they started pitocin and baby was born at 9:45 AM it was great! I didn't feel much pain because as soon as the contractions started I got my epidural! slept until it was time to push
