It's just a test to check for gestational diabetes. You drink a really thick, sugary drink that they give you then wait an hour to get blood drawn. It's only horrible because you have to fast before and during, so it kinda makes you feel icky. I was insanely thirsty after drinking it but couldn't have any water. That was rough. But it really wasn't bad at all.
It really is not that bad if you drink sugary drinks at home you should be fine lol with my first the drink tasted just like the lemonade i made for my self at home and this one tasted just like orange pop to me
@autumn, really they made you fast for it they didnt for me and didnt tell me i couldnt drink water.... at neither of mine the one with my daughter 5 yrs ago and this past one maybe every place is different....
I've had four three hour ones and they have you fast then draw blood drink the drink which was only thing that was kinda yucky unless you are a pop drinker draw your blood over next three hours can only sip water during if you absolutely need to not so bad as it sounds or I just have high tolerance to just do and get it over with good luck

My friends talked it up to me like I was gonna die drinking it but it wasn't as bad as they made it out to be. Gross but not as bad. Lol

It did give me heartburn and feel icky afterwards though!
