So my midwife has now told me I should take my maternity leave or get signed off until the date of my maternity leave…

mine flew too @beccastirlingx cannot believe it! your little man will be here in no time! if your finding work to much though I'd listen to her, it doesn't get any easier! I'm due in 3 days and I can't even pull myself off the couch to go for a wee😂😂 ready for her to come now! xxx

I think I'm going to go off now, struggling with 14 hour shifts and all the walking and heavy lifting! It's so scary how fast it goes huh?! @sachadaley123 cxx

Yeah I would if I was you! have a bit of you time before he gets here and you get no time at all! it is scary like but I'm sooooo glad I don't feel like it has dragged! although my little one doesn't look like she's gonna make a appearance any time soon 😂 but I can see the finish line! @beccastirlingx xxx

My midwife told me the same, I'm now going on maternity leave on the 28th of February. I'll only be 28 weeks then but I'm struggling with pelvic pain and long hours and my boss doesn't seem to care and just complains about target times and stuff. You'll be glad of the rest before its all go with the little one xx

That's exactly what my works been like except they're putting me on 14 hour shifts a day and 50 hour weeks!! Also doing heavy lifting and haven't carried out any risk assessments so it's safer if I get myself and my baby out of there! Xx

I'm the same @beccastirlingx . At my last appointment my bp was really low and babies heartbeat was quite high, had to go in for monitoring. But all was fine in the end and put down to work stress. The 28th Feb is the earliest I can take or I'd be out of there sooner, I'm even tempted to not go back after leave I hate the place so much since becoming pregnant. Don't feel part of a team or a good work environment any more xx

@nico7, it's horrible eh? My manager has tried to get me to quit as soon as I announced my pregnancy and even taken away my weekends off and made me work Xmas day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Hogmanay! All because I'm pregnant and think I won't be out drinking and seeing friends! It's awful the way some companies treat pregnant women! Xx

@beccastirlingx, the same has happened to me! Even working till 11 on New Year's Eve! When everyone else started later and got sent home earlier. I'm still fuming about that. I never have weekends off now or even an early finish on a Sunday which I've requested a few times because everyone gathers at my mums on a Sunday for family day and I've missed them since announcing my pregnancy xx

It's absolutely shockin!!! Do what I'm doing and get signed off till your maternity starts or seek advice from your citizens advice bureau, we shouldn't let them away with it!! @nico7 xx

@beccastirlingx, my midwife is always at me to be signed off but the last time I was signed off I got so much crap for it! Even having a line in I still got calls about coming in for attendance matter reasons and the only times I've taken off were due to pregnancy related ones🙈. Feels like I can't win at all, I've been doing as I'm asked and working the hours given and picking up others slack but if I forget one thing I'm roasted for it. I even went home crying one night! I'm a deputy store manager as well, i'd hate to see the treatment I'd get if I was a store assistant! I'm gonna see citizens advice, my mum has said the same. Our companies shouldn't be able to treat people the way they are xx

That is so awful!!!! I'm the same because I was off at the beginning of my pregnancy with really bad sickness to the point I couldn't get out of bed! I wasn't paid for it but their still claiming I'm owe them a full weeks work! It's ridiculous! Defo speak to citizens advice, I'm getting signed off. Going to my doctor tomorrow, my midwife was saying to me today what they are doing to me is illegal, I shouldn't be working over my hours while pregnant, also the mile walk between clients should have stopped. Especially now I'm in the 3rd tri! But best of luck, honestly! I can totally relate and it's horrible. I wouldn't wish anyone to be treated this way, pregnancy is supposed to be a time of joy! @nico7 xxx

@beccastirlingx, I feel better knowing I'm not the only one that's being treated this way at work. But it shouldn't be happening in the first place to us. It is meant to be a joy, this is my first baby I've managed to make it past the 2nd trimester with! But I'm so stressed and worried about work that I'm not enjoying it. I need to put myself and baby first and if being signed off does that I think I'm gonna have to give in xx
