so I'm stuck on a slight debate with my boy friend and need some input ladies... circumcision or not?
we are going with circumcision because I've been told sex could be painful, bf was so our son will be.
It's a very personal decision. There isn't really a "right" answer. We will not be having our son circumcised and that's because we have both researched it and watching all the methods practiced around us and decided we can't do that to our baby. But as long as you do the research before making your decision you will not regret it.
No. It's an outdated practice and just like female circumcision, there is no medical need. The chances of contracting an infection are almost exactly the same as if he were uncircumcised. Teaching a boy to clean himself properly is less difficult than brushing his teeth. All animals have foreskin and it's genital mutilation. Look up what they do to your precious baby, it's not just a snip here and there. There are many myths surrounding circumcision - it will also not prevent STD's. And, there are tons of nerve endings that are severed when mutilating your infant's penis. Over 90% of the world is uncircumcised, the USA is one of the few remianing places that still does this. Your baby will go into shock, that's why he won't scream. It's still extremely painful regardless of anesthesia, and every year, babies die from male circumcision.
It's really up to you. Do your research. We did our research and found that circumcision was right for our family.
check out an elephant in the hospital. it really helped my husband and I make the decision not to circumcise. the information encouraging the procedure is circumstantial. it MAY reduce infection. if you don't use condoms stds are still a problem. when it came down to it, I can't bring myself to put my child in pain like that. if we did circumcise, we would choose mohel to perform a bris as the risk of blood loss goes down significantly. their method is also much more humane and less than 30 seconds.
I didn't get my son circumcised. He was born a healthy boy and that's how I left him.
I say yes, bc If it's not cleaned right even as an adult it can cause major infections also more at risk for STDS
