There's a 1 hour test and a 3 hour test. You sometimes fast for them, meaning not eating anything past midnight until after your test is complete. You drink a super sugary drink in under 5 minutes, then depending on the test you are doing they take your blood an hour later, or every hour for 3 hours. Tests you for gestational diabetes. You usually have it done around 27 or so weeks, sometimes a little earlier, sometimes later.
And it isn't really a good thing to have. Your baby can grow quicker than needed and other complications cana rise. Usually if you do get them you have to have a special diet or stay away from loads of sugars etc. Not 100% sure how you get them though. I didn't have it with my first but I "borderline" have it this time, so I have to watch what I eat.

i had GD my first pregnancy and it was horrible. i gained 60 pounds! its a really important test to make sure you get!
