they monitor you and babies heartbeat with little straps around your tummy. they also monitor your uterine contractions. just to make sure baby isnt under stress! i had many done with my twins.
I go twice a week for it and they hook you up to a machine that monitors baby's heartbeat and contractions. they look for two heart accelerations in 20mins and will go up to 40mins. after 40mins if they dont see accelerations they come and do an ultrasound.
