This is my sweet boy, my first son, Marcus, in his hospital pic. Born at almost 35 weeks, I had gone into preterm labor with him at 28 weeks. I was given a cocktail of meds to stop the labor, and shots to mature his lungs. It was a very painful process (especially the mag sulfate drip) but I would do anything to make sure my baby was okay. I even faced my fear of taking pills for the first time in my life to swallow horse pills to keep him put. When I reached 34.4, he didn't want to wait anymore. By the grace of God, my baby boy required no medical intervention and he was born at a very healthy birth weight. He did drop down to 5.3 before we left the hospital, though, so he was an exceptionally tiny baby. Nonetheless, I know how scary and terrifying preemie life is and I know most cases don't go as well as mine did. For all the mamas faced with having a preemie, I understand your fear and I am here for support should you need it. I may not have been through some of the scarier things preemies may go through or encounter, but I do know the fear of what its like to be where you are. Prayers and support to all of you beautiful moms xo #preemie #preemielife
