Ladies I have a huge fear of SIDS; & this is our first night home. I couldn't even sleep in the hospital unless the baby was in the nursery and I definitely can't sleep now. I just keep watching him and crying because of the fear and the fact I am so tired. Anyone experience the same thing? How did you overcome it? I'm dying over here. 😢

I did. And I still do now and she's two months already. I don't sleep much because I'm so scared of anything happening but I've gotten better at it. It's not easy just pray and keep a good eye on the baby. Everything will be ok. 😄

@bfelixreyes, I done the same thing! I thought I was never gonna sleep, I was so exhausted I couldn't even keep my eyes open... do u have someone who can come watch the baby for a few hours during the day while u get some rest? the fear and staying up all night watching them does fade away I started sleeping all night except when it was time to feed her around 3-4 days

I do I lost my twins from a miscarriage so I'm scared that I might lose my LO so she sleeps in the bed with me. I am very paranoid. I'm still in therapy from the miscarriage.

This is my 4th child and I have been paranoid with every child. I wake up often. Every little coo, cough, or any sound. I am awake. I agree with everyone the fear will fade

I've lost three before having my rainbow baby. All during pregnancy, my twins twisted their umbilical cord at 7 months and a miscarriage at 10 weeks... I was so scared I'd panic whenever baby girl was sleeping in the womb then could hardly get any sleep when she was born. I could only sleep with her laying on my chest or in the nook of my arm. She loved it too. Being close like that is supposed to help regulate breathing, temperature, and heart rate... also made it easy to pretty much constantly keep an eye on her. I kept trying to put her in her bassinet but would worry too much. She's 7 months old now and loves snuggling to fall asleep :)

i had this fear to but got worse when my mother in law had to open her mouth, saying how babies can forget to keep breathing. i couldnt sleep at all in the hospital, id purposely move her lil bed everytime i woke up to check if she was ok. i even decided to cosleep with her til i got her bassinet. it took me a week to get comfortable leaving her for a few minutes at a time and now at 3 weeks i can finally go about chores like i use to. but the fear doesnt really go away. you get more comfortable but til there bigger i dont think you stop worring. but i found different things that ease my mind. like sleeping with a pacifier reduces the chance of sids. also idk bout you but i prayed on it and just told the lord her life is in his hands and honestly that alone has given me alot of comfort. just remember to take care of yourself too. i love my daughter but i am very stressed, but knowing what a happy lil baby she is makes it all worth it.

I ended up cosleeping too, my girl will be 4 months soon and still sleeps on my arm like a pillow lol.... btw babies don't technically "forget to breathe " they actually have a form of apnea because they're still developing their lungs. it sounded scary to me too at first! SIDS happens sometimes, but it's still on the side of rare.

@faithfulness88, @lyssa143marie, @leelemommy @mtzmaria25 @mommy2girls2boys @baileymomma @tigerlilly @kattastrophe Thank you so much ladies. You all definitely helped reassure me and I must agree it gets easier with time! I'm starting to get a system down, day by day. 🙏🏼

The owlet really helped or the angelcare monitors which alert you when your baby stops breathing for 20 secs or stops moving I believe. was awesome and we live off our baby monitor
