bumpers are no longer recommended by any doctors.

they cause suffocation

newborns dont really move much so you dont need a bumper .

just swaddle the baby and put her in the crib. bassinet is more for if you want them like arms reach from your bed

my sister never used a bassinet, she was fine

Yes you can use a bumper. I use mesh bumpers my doctor never told me it was bad. A bassinet is usually kept in your room so the baby can be in arms reach and the crib in their room or nursery. You don't have to have both if you don't want. I've personally never had a bassinet just a crib that I kept in my room and a pack n play with the newborn thing in the main part of the house.

Either one is good but if you use a bumper use a mesh one rather then the one that came with the crib set the baby can suffocate

@katietay34, bassinet is more if you want baby close to you. Don't use any crib bumpers, it should only be the mattress and fitted sheet in the crib. I use a bassinet right now bc my baby sleeps in our room next to me for now.

bumpers are highly not recommended because of the risk of babys suffocating. but whichever you use is your choice. as @galindo_love said, bassinets are more to have baby right next to you
