I've never been so stressed ever about this damn glucose test they want me to do at 20 weeks I have…

I have to do that next visit on the 22nd of next month and I'm already dreading it

It's not as bad as everyone says 😉 just make sure your tummy is full because that definitely makes a huge difference! While you're drinking it, just stare at the ceiling, they usually give you 5 minutes to finish the bottle, so if it helps, you can sip it! I normally sip it down to an inch from the bottom and then chug it! Lol and fruit punch is the way to go! Never the orange 😖😖

Its not bad I did one hour at 12 weeks due to past pregnancies flunked did three hour at 16 weeks passed!!!!! Whooooo

Oh and they have a new lemon lime tastes like Sprite not bad at all and trust me I've had every flavor orange is barf lol good luck!

@Jennaboo, you're not supposed to fast before your glucose test because they want to see your sugar levels on a regular basis, and how your body reacts to the drink which is nothing but sugar, my OB would kill if they knew someone fasted before they went in to take that test. That's probably why a lot of these women have gotten sick and complain about how horrible it was and how bad it made them feel because they probably didn't eat!! That's crazy they would make you do that. That's like a disaster wishing to happen

some places have you fast. I was told i couldn't eat 10-12 hours before.

Yeah and not to have anything high in sugar 3 days prior cuz that could elevate your glucose levels @mommatata131416

my doctor said the same thing nothing to eat or drink except for sips of water after 8pm

I had to do early because I had gestational diabetes with my last birth

Also with the one hour you do not have to fast the three hour yes I'm in the medical profession and have always know it to be this way

That's so strange. This is not the first post that has talked about the fasting or not. My dr told me not to fast but just not to eat a huge meal before I came in. And I had a NST rite before I took it and my dr actually gave me something to eat to get baby moving more. And I had already had cereal two hours before. I wonder why all the differences

@Jennaboo, yeah my OB recommends not to fast, just because you wouldn't not eat for 12 hours any other day, right? So why not eat for one day when you have to take a test that's checking your sugar for the sake of your baby, my OB always says they need to see your regular intake of sugar so to eat as you normally would and don't make any changes. Idk I guess a lot of doctors are different. I just know if I wouldn't have ate before my test, I would have puked up my guts and probably passed out.
