I'm thinking the same way! it irritates me because I have all of this pressure from my family saying I better do it & idk what to do :(

I made the mistake with my first. Totally regret it btw. I'm due with another boy and I just simply told my husband and everybody else he will be left alone. My husband tries to argue with me but it doesn't last long. You are that babies mother and your the one sacrificing sleep and so much more to bring that baby into this world and give that baby the best. In my honest opinion if they aren't the once birthing the child and so on then they really don't have room to push their opinion. But that's just me.

@javiersmom, do what you feel is right! They aren't the ones who have to take care of the baby, change diapers, bathe him or deal with it if he gets an infection or something from the circumcision. I think regardless of what anyone tells you YOU are his mother you have the power to choose what's best for your baby. I've seen the worst of circumcision and I don't think I could ever put my baby through that. both of my nephews were circumcised and the oldest one didn't get done right so he has a permanent lump on the side of it and my other nephew they only taped it. I remember his screams and cries of pain. I think I'm pretty set on not doing it to my child!

I never circumcised my son and i don't plan on doing it this time! I just don't see the point of it, I feel like it's not my body to make that kind of decision and I don't want him to resent me for it when he's all grown up. He's 14 months now and so far we've had no problems with any infections so I don't think it's something I should've done (:

I just feel like my husband doesn't understand what I'm talking about. I don't care what other people think because it's my child. I will convince my husband that this is what's best for our baby. If my child decides that he wants circumcised he can do it when he turns 18 than he is a legal adult and can make that choice! I just don't want to put my baby through that kind of pain

I understand you and I hate your going through that. My son was circumsised, both hubby and my decision. If my husband wanted him to be and I didn't I would have done it anyway. It's not a man's job to carry the child. They were not made to and just simply can't. They do have say in the decisions for the child however. I feel like they have just as much say as we do. Even if we're the ones doing the hard work. Do what you think is best. Don't completely take him out of the decisions though. He is the father.

It's not medically needed really. My son has his and he's fine. Medicaid doesn't cover it and it only gets more expensive if you wait until he's older. Plus if he knew how they did it he wouldn't want him to go through with that.

its all about preferences...if you dont think he needs it dont do it. all 6 of my lil brothers were circumcised, both of my nephews were too. never had any issues...so my son if i have one will have a circumcision too.

Michigan medicaid does cover it so that's not the problem. I just think my husband and myself shouldn't make the decision for our son. My husband is starting to see where I'm coming from and paying attention to how I feel. I think the fact that I have a valid argument is helping me!!! :) I don't want to have him circumcised and have him hate me for it when he gets older. Where if I don't get it done and he wants it he can get it. I am not bashing mothers who have circumcised because we all have different views and parent differently

if he ever wanted it clipped when older it hurts more and high risk infection...but to each it's own...good luck

Once it's time for him to have sex it will hurt him on his first couple time he has to break that skin

My son is circumcised and I wouldn't have it any other way, we didn't have any problems with it getting infected in the hospital everything went perfect! Like everyone else is saying though it's you're decision to get it done or leave! 😀

There's pros and cons but my man is the one with the penis. If we have a son it'll be completely up to him. He knows best about what works with what and I trust his decision fully.

i appreciate the input ladies. We will make a full decision as soon as we find out the gender but my husband is now totally open to not circumcising. I'm happy with that!
