Wondering if it's ok to feed my 4 month old son ceral. my mother in law keeps yelling at me to do it and everything I read you wait till 6. anyone have any ideas

I waited until 6 months. my son wasn't interested in any solids until around then. you don't have to give your baby anything that you are not comfortable with
What @eskawho said we didn't use it at all either.
I waited until 6 months as her pediatrician told us. and really we did cereal to get her used to texture but we didn't use it long as it empty calories with no nutritional value.. then we did baby food.
Newest research has said waiting to start any solids past 6 months is best for their gut health.

The new thing is to start your child on baby food at 4 months.
You will have a lot of back and forth answers on 4 or 6 months. I personally was told from my son's pedi that it was best for my son to start at 4 because he was bigger than average & acted like he was never satisfied with feedings. . so that is what was best for us. You can start him whenever you both feel ready. And remember.. YOU know what is best for your little one 😙
