So when I went to my 20 week anatomy scan on jan. 7th the ultrasound tech said baby girl looked completely healthy and was measuring perfect with my due date. But then she said she wanted to better check the placement of my placenta in concordance with my cervix so I had to have a transvaginal ultrasound as well. It turns out that my placenta is anterior and is about 1 cm away from my cervix, close but not quite to being placenta previa. Then I met with my midwife and she told my husband and i that we couldn't have sex until my next apt. which was exactly one month from that apt. (booooo😢😭)... to see if by then my placenta will have moved up as baby and uterus grows. Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome? I am worried that if it doesn't move up it will cause complications and a possible c-section 😟😕

I have an anterior placenta so I didn't feel my baby move until after 20 weeks but no doctor has told me it is bad or anything I needed to worry about. I'm now going on 33 weeks and everything is fine!

@jaxmomma I am 22 weeks and have felt her since 20 weeks but my concern is that the placenta is close to my cervix which means if it covers the opening of the cervix the placenta would come out before the baby and it's supposed to be opposite that. I was just wondering as baby grows if it will move up. thank you for your input that's really encouraging!!

I've had the previa since the beginning and no sex since 2 months... It's moved but not all the way away so I have a c section schedule for 35 weeks :( I pray yours moves

Yes.. Been seeing a high risk doctor since they discovered the previa which they don't officially call it previa until 20 weeks

oh okay. she said mine is not previa because it's not covering the cervix but it is only 1 cm away so it's close. I go back at 24 weeks to see if it has moved.

U should at least 2 app until they make a decision. I worried when it was in the right area by my next app
