Has anyone had an issue with their baby being worried about no longer being the baby? My daughter…
Has anyone had an issue with their baby being worried about no longer being the baby? My daughter has always been my little princess (she's 7 now) and she is spoiled by everyone. Lately she keeps asking me questions like already comparing herself to my unborn. Like mommy who is going to be your prettiest girl? Mommy which daughter will you love more? Which will daddy love more? Then my son doesn't help telling her my unborn doesn't like her when she kicks when she is laying on my stomach... My daughter is VERY sensitive. Every since she helped "work" at my parents daycare last summer she has had a complex about her weight, hair and everything. The girls told her she was nasty because her hair touched her bottom. That she was hairy and had a unibrow. That she is chunky and sometimes baby weight doesn't go away... I mean they were mean to her and of course she didn't tell my parents and in the summer they have all kind of ratchet hood kids show up for daycare and summer programs. I've been working on her confidence but I never want her to feel like she is in competition with her baby sister.

I fear this too, her father is chunky and so is his sister and on my side of the family we are are on the smaller side. People are so insensitive to bigger people and I'm sensitive about it too since I've gained so much weight and have I had issues since I was 24. Anyways since of how I feel it's going to break my heart for her the deal with intense bullying because I got bullied for being different and smart. He only advice I can give is take her shopping, get her nails and hair done with you and build up her confidence that day by complimenting her and referring to celebrities whose thick beautiful and successful.

@peaceinfall, oh she does all that she is a mini. When I go she goes and everywhere we go people compliment her and tell her how pretty she is and how much they love her curly hair, how stylish she is and what not... Doesn't seem to help. She wants to go on diets and every time the commercials come on she will say I want that. I ask her is she happy with the way she looks and she says yes. Her friends tell her how pretty she is and they all want to come over and hang with her everyday. She's always been in the top of the class and brags about how her teacher says she is so smart and she helps other kids who struggle. Yet her actions and comments speak differently.

I hate to say it but it's true, but it's society ! Show her campaigns against body shaming! I would try everything until something sticks. Even if she wants to make more veggies at dinner time or give her more fruits. Tell her eating right will help make her feel better , don't tell her it's going to help her loose weight. You don't want her obsessing over what she eats.
