don't want to get drama feed back but real question... who uses marijuana during their pregnancy . how did it turn out for you in the end.?
I smoked marijuana the first trimester of my pregnancy. And so far my baby is developing within expected range. It helped with morning sickness and irritability. And also with sleep. The problem with the studies is that they don't get accurate results because the women are usually also taking something else, like alcohol or drugs. I'm not recommending using marijuana, but I think it has helped me. I also know women who smoked their entire pregnancy who's children came out normally and who developed through childhood wonderfully.
I use medicinal tinctures when not pregnant. There's just not enough research on the long term effects of cannabinoid use while pregnant for me to feel comfortable using it. I was born with fetal drug syndrome due to my birth mother using cocaine while pregnant. Now back in the day they said that high end cocaine would not have any long term effects on babies but now know that not to be true. I wet the bed until I was 12 and didn't have full blown puberty until age 16. Those things don't set off alarms for doctors but are now known as symptoms of fetal drug syndrome. Anything that changes your state of mind or physical chemistry has to be assumed to have consequences whether they're severe or not. Better safe then sorry I'm afraid until some real genuine research has been done on LONG TERM effects. Just because you can't see something with your eyes doesn't mean it isn't there. A child that's "just fine" may have problems that just aren't as obvious as a physical deformity. No judgement obviously, just making a plain statement based off education and personal experience. 😉 I am a user both medicinally and recreationally when it is responsible and appropriate to do so.
@babyj2016, & everyone has their opinion, you have the right to say yours just like everyone here, no harm in what you said,
@babyj2016, I'm not arguing that it's the same thing or even close, I know there's a difference, I'm just saying that the use of it in pregnancy, depending on how you smoke it as well, in my opinion is very minor compared to what some women partake in while pregnant, and I've seen first hand that it doesn't do harm like any other "drug".
@wrd2016, cannabis oil and smoking pot are not the same thing. Yes they are made out of the same thing, however cannabis oil does not get you high, it's use to control epileptic seizures and other medical problems. If you're using medical marijuana it can help with nausea and pain. But just smoking it to smoke it doesn't make it the same as someone using cannabis oil to stop your child from having multiple seizures a day. Sorry for the rant but I hear that same argument entirely to often.
i smoked almost everyday and recently stopped smoking because i am afraid of getting my son taken away and take no chances. but if i could smoke weed , shit id be smoking everyday cuz nothing wrong with it at all
my nephews mom smoked the whole time she was pregnant, everyday, and I swear my nephew is the smartest little boy I know! like he's super smart, really laid back, never really gets sick, and he's a healthy size boy, so he turned out just fine, if my boyfriend wasn't so against it and DCS wouldn't get involved I would have smoked every now and then but I quit before I even found out I was pregnant bc I was on probation, but even after I got off I didnt, I was just scared of DCS getting involved, but I don't see a negative affect on my nephew, in some states kids are given cannabis oil for stuff,
I would just check into how it all works in CO. Since recreational marijuana use is legal there, it may not be something where CPS gets involved. But I think most states where that isn't the case, would get CPS involved if THC is detected in baby's blood at the time of delivery.
I did I smoke for 6 months I had really bad morning sickness and back pain. I smoked 1 bowl throughout the day. my son is perfectly healthy and smart and developing just fine.
I quit smoking it a few days before I found out I was preggo. I just didn't believe it to be safe smoking it while preggo.
if found in your system during delivery or you test positive for it 3 times during pregnancy, cps will take your baby
I smoked until I was about 6 maybe 6.5 months , I'm due in 6 days and it helped me not get sick as much and I slept better and always ate good . My doctors told me though I had to stop failing drug test because if I had it in my system when I went into labor they would have child services involved at the hospital.
I stopped smoking it once I found out I was pregnant, a few weeks ago at my doctors appointment the nurse stated that they test the baby for THC once they are born and if they test positive then CPS could take my child away I'm just glad I stopped because I would die if that happened ..I live in AZ so some states might be different
I have chronic migraines and a really bad back (broke it a few years ago) and to be very honest, weed is one of the safest things for pain relief during pregnancy. It is a natural herb that won't hurt the baby, and can actually help prevent diseases and other bad things that happen to the baby. I support you in your choice, :-)
