My friends just had this with their 3 year old, their normal dentist sent them to a specialist with laughing gas.

They are also sending us to a specialist but I'm so nervous I won't get to be in the room with him @sarah528

Depends on the dentist but honestly if it's in a baby tooth I wouldn't fill it unless it hurts. I work in dentistry. It can be traumatizing to a toddler but they should get nitrous

Oh good! @sarah528 and i wouldn't get it filled if it wasn't for it being his molar @ella1007 I'm going to definitely get more opinions before I do it though. I don't want it to scare him because he does so good at the drs and dentists!

If you go to a good pediatric dentist they will give him a mask to wear where he'll breathe in laughing gas type stuff and he'll be so relaxed then they will numb him and lower the amount of stuff he's inhaling. My son went through a lot of work and never had an issue. The dentist was amazing. First time we took him to a regular dentist and it was HORRIBLE!! this dentist held him down numbed him and made me leave the room while he was screaming and I was like oh hell no were out of here!!!

@jamielynn07, yes get a couple of opinions and like @sammyrae618 said make sure you see a pediatric dentist and one that will let you stay with him and one that is actually good with kids. I've seen some crazy stuff over the last 12 years but there are good pediatric dentist out there
