Twin Gene: Does the Father's Side Matter? Debunking the Myth

my husband is a twin and his mom thinks that I'm pregnant with twins...every time I'm pregnant. I explained the science to her but...she thinks I'm an idiot.

oh my gosh.. haha it just bothers me people always say so did the dad's side have twins? no.. and it doesn't matter if he did! lol or I get "does your family have twins" well no... twins are just a happening.. well multiples at that! haha if the mother has twins on her side she has a higher chance... but still ;) @nharri22

I have a friend whose boyfriend is an identical twin...they now have 2 sets of identical twin girls!! Also my uncle has twin sisters, his wife had twins. :) so I think it can def be the daddy!!

no... it has nothing to do with the father. lol. it is not scientifically possible... ask any ob.. and as a mother of twins I did my fair amount of research. the female has to release two eggs (fraternal twins) or the egg has to split (identical twins) @olson0305

@mamaof31996, really? Cool! I feel like so many of my friends have had twins this year, I think twin moms are heroes. I can hardly handle one at a time
