I had an epidural at 5 cm and after was amazing no pain just pressure. allowed me to sleep and get rest to push. Honestly I was freaking out to get one but it dident hurt . the shot before to numb area just burned. Kept me from feeling thr ring of fire i think. I say ask for it early because if u get it in really bad pain , you have to stay still.

I got the epidural at 6 in a half cm

And I was having really bad contractions every like 2-3 minutes apart and it was really scary as they were doing the epidural cause I couldn't move I think that's the only part that's scary is having contractions while getting the epidural @cassandraba

I've heard of alot of people having back pain due to the epi.. Some have a great experience but others dont.

It's different for everyone. I had an epidural and the anesthesiologist put it in wrong and left the hospital with his phone off when he was the only one on call so they had to leave it in for about 7-10 hours until I gave birth and were able to find someone to take it out. I have permanent nerve damage in my back now. :/

nooo its easy peasy.. for me the IV was more.of a.moke.than the epi is... the epi was over while I was still anticipating it.. the guy just walks away and said good luck.. i didnt even know he did it until.my toes went numb
