I have myself a budget. Even being pregnant I try not to spend more than a certain amount each pay check. I didn't do much to stock up during the holidays so I went a little crazy after lol. I also try ands buy a couple packs of diapers ands wipes each check to help stock up. hope that helps @butterfly919
For clothes me and my SO have been buying a couple outfits here and there same with diapers and wipes but we look at our expenses for each paycheck and say we will spend x amount on the baby while still saving for other big items we need we had started all this since about 10 weeks and now we have clothes in sizes up until 9-12 mo, big boxes of diapers up until sizes 3, 6 large boxes of wipes, bottles, pacifiers and all her large items except a crib. So all that's left is just her crib, extra crib sheets, more burp cloths and small items like that but I left those on my registry
What helped us is looking at stuff on sale when it comes around like I had gotten those huge wipe boxes at babys r us for 15 bc they were on sale, body washes lotions and diaper cream are constantly on sale you just have to check your local stores and online too bc that's how I had gotten my baby's furniture for half our budget too
a good thing about diapers. I got a lot of size one and newborn at my baby shower with my first baby and as long as Wal-Mart sells that brand they will exchange any unopened packs for sizes or brand you prefer I did it and had enough diapers to last my son till he was almost a year old.
also remeber if you use babies r us that you need to add all the things you buy to your registry too so that you can earn cash back on it all in the end ;) @butterfly919
check the local resale shops, the ba y one near my work was having hige clearance sales this weekend, walked out with 3 pairs of maternity jeans (regularly $30+) for $3.
