Okay guys. It's going to be a little bit before we actually start trying to conceive again, but I'm already planning everything.
I do plan to have my baby in a hospital because my insurance only covers that and I can't afford a doula. However I do plan to go without pain medicine as long as I can and maybe even give birth without it.
My question is, how do you work your way through contractions?
I also need as much info on breastfeeding from start to finish as anyone can give me. I want to use this time to learn the things I didn't with my first.

I had my son without medication. Just take deep breaths and think of something relaxing. My way was deep breaths and I had to cover my eyes and block everything out

I delivered my son without any pain control. To prepare for labor and delivery I read as much as I possibly could on different natural birth methods. The Bradley Method book is where I started..it's a little dated but the relaxation techniques it talks about helped me a lot once labor started getting more intense. I also did lots and lots of online research on natural labor. Going into it knowing as much as I possibly could really helped me know what to expect and that I could trust my body to know what to do.
Focusing on my breathing really helped me get through the last 3 cm when my contractions were super strong. I also used an birthing ball (just an exercise ball really ) to help open th pelvic floor and help help the baby drop and cervix open faster. Sorry for the long post.

I delivered both of my children without medication. I highly recommend reading Painless Childbirth by Guiditta Tornetta.
