hi! so I'm happily married and baby was planned and everything is going fantastic we are having a baby boy. . my biggest worry is an odd one. i was raised by just my mom no dad in the picture for most of my life and when he was he was abusive. I know my husband will not be but I am more worried about me and how I will react to seeing that fatherly bond for the first time. and I'm nervous I'm going to "hog" the baby and be selfish just because I'm not sure what exactly a father does. . i know it sounds strange and its really hard to explain my feeling well that was my mini vent thanks for reading!

I kinda went through same thing my dad left when I was two and was in and out of my life till about fourth grade but my Mom was the abusive one and so far seeing my husband with our son makes me smile I don't know as he gets older how I will be he will be 2 weeks old saturday and so far so good for us

My dad was around but not a huge hands on dad.. didn't change diapers or get up for feedings when my siblings were born.. when I had my son I was a huge baby hog. I thought mama's do it best and it was my job. when my son would cry my boobs would throb and I NEEDED to comfort him myself.. anyway long story short it has passed and my son is 3 and my husband is a very hands on dad and does a great job! this time around I think I'll be more relaxed.
