You should get that checked just in case. I get the makena shots every week. The most I've experienced is a sore butt cheek for a day or two. Is this the first time it's happened?

@searrahmone, yea. the first several shots I had weren't so bad....This one 2 weeks ago caused my leg to swell around my knee and hip and I'm having trouble moving my leg. today has been the worst with the pain...it isn't red or tender to the touch so they don't think it's a clot.

Maybe the nurse or whom ever gave you the shot did something wrong (heaven forbid). Are you able to go to the ER? The fact that you can barely move your leg doesn't sound good 😔

@searrahmone, the nurse who gave me the shot has screwed up before with me. I had blood drawn by her and ended up with a really painful hematoma. I'm thinking I may head to the ER as the pain has gotten worse in a short amount of time and with limited mobility. This isn't supposed to happen and it's been nothing but problems

@searrahmone, no. but I'm there now. the pain got really bad within minutes and luckily, it's the night my mom takes my 2 year old to give me a break. I can't sit or stand without pain

I also take it, but they give it to me in my butt muscle no bad experience. Did she give you shot to fast? You know it has to be given over a minutes time. Do you think she was rushing?

I have no idea and I want to know why I'm having a reaction to this one time. the pain has lasted 2 weeks. I only bruised a week after the shot. it was so weird. and now this. along with the pain in my back and leg, it's causing a tightness around my ribs that is painful. I'm back in a room at our er and just waiting to be seen by a doctor. the nurse saw the swelling and at this point they are concerned because of how long it's lasted

I originally thought it was a clot, but didn't have any other symptoms other then swelling. the pain is making me nauseous

@baby6aryn, I didn't know it had to be given over a certain amount of time.

Yes otherwise it's gonna pool and be hard to absorb because of its thickness. That's probably where your pain is coming from. Please let me know your status.

they don't think it's a clot here either and they don't know why I'm in pain....but it hurts to breathe and is causing pressure in my stomach now. I'm waiting for answers....I just have a sinking feeling that my son is going to be preemie like his sister with the way things are going.

They need to figure this out! I hope he stays in there longer.

I got Tylenol and it helped with most of the pain, still hurts when I breathe in. they believe it's a kidney infection now or that the nurse struck a nerve when I was given my injection. baby boy's heartbeat is 157, which is good and I'm feeling movement. a week ago I didn't have a uti so I'm curious if one can form this fast and cause this much pain
