I was told one will be assign to me throughout my labor but during the stay they change every 12 hour .. I'm not sure how it all works

I think it depends on how long you are there because they rotate every 12 hours I believe

I had my midwife, her nurse, the nurse who took me to my room after delivery and 3-4 nurses after that.
