How long did you mommies wait until you had a lot of people around your baby? My father wants me to come to PHX at the end of March (he'd only be 2 months old at that point) and I have no problem with that but then he tells me he told his friend whom I've only met once that is was okay for her to throw me a baby shower. I told my dad that I would prefer to wait until I came back in July to have all those people (50+) around him. Especially since the majority are smokers. Then he tells me well let's see what the doctor thinks and I said I can make the decisions for my child not his doctor. Am I being too overprotective?

I had my daughter around people when she was a newborn but not 50+ people. I don't think it would be a big deal if they weren't smokers. I have a thing with people that smoke..I can't stand the smell and don't want it around my children. But its good to get your baby out and build their immune system. Nothing wrong with having close family and friends around either.

it's okay especially when he have his first set of shots but you have the right to make any decision for your child and smoking is definitely not good around an newborn/infant or any baby for that matter

@kriisssroxana, yeah I understand that I definitely do want family to come meet him. It's the fact that they're smokes and not family that made me say that 2 months is too early.
