I've never heard that. probably just a precaution in case you have a miscarriage. But if you are past the first trimester and aren't having complications you're good. I bought some stuff before I even knew what I was having. just a couple outfits cause I was too anxious to wait. then once I found out the gender I started shopping right away.

I'm 18 weeks, and already have a lot of little things I'll need (pacifiers, onesies, socks, etc) even a bassinet, and bouncer. It's never to early to start😄

I did the same thing @britt7514 did. I miscarried with my first didn't want to get my hopes up or buy all that baby stuff and constantly have that reminder
