I don't think you can claim anything for the baby before it's here but once you've had baby you can claim some things. I'm not sure what. You'd have to speak to your local Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). They'll advise you. That's what I did. I am also not claiming CSA when she's here because to do so it requires the fathers name on the birth certificate but they've changed how you put their name down. I cannot just write his name. He has to do it himself and he has no intentions so legally I can't claim CSA. That's what the CAB told me when I asked them for advice about stuff. I may be wrong, so don't take what I've said as gospel lol x

you can claim CSA but they preform a DNA to ensure the dad is the actual dad. I'm just not claiming CSA purely because he doesn't want to be involved so I don't want a penny off him! But after looking at nursery fees etc, I'm starting to worry about my income and how ill afford it all! @nashkay x

Is that how they do it? He has a right to refuse I guess and I reckon my daughter's father will refuse. And I too don't want his money but like you say, stuff costs so I dunno lol I'll decide when she's here x

They cant refuse :) it just has to go through court

Yes you are entitled to child tax credits and working tax credits as you are still working just on maternity pay only once baby is born. When I had my daughter I went back to work and was a single parent and claimed tax credits and also you can get childcare element of tax credits if ypu using a childminder or private nursery. any other questions just ask xxxx

Check on the internet what the maximum you can earn is hun. Once you go over a certain amount you don't qualify x
