How often do your kids wash? Because mine do, daily, and we get looks for it. (You're ruining their skin! You're washing away the natural oils! They won't have immunity!) I feel like they need to have good hygiene practices growing up so they won't be those adults who need pull-asides. Plus I'm always very disheartened when I smell a kid--they should not have body odor! Baths don't take nearly as much time as I spend responding to texts or any other leisurely thing so I just think it's lazy to not at least let them have a good shower before they get in bed.

Mine take two because they follow what I do. I only make them take baths at night but they started on their own taking showers in the morning as well..

I'm a two-a-day girl myself. I just like a shower to wake up in the morning and a shower-then-bath to wind down for sleep.

Right now because my daughter is only 5 months I do every other day but once she gets bigger it'll be every day

My parents never made my brother shower or anything, and he stank I swear until he was 16 and got a girlfriend and decided to care of his own choice. But my littlest brother who is eight is the same way and you have to fight him to take a bath... I hope to get my son into a habit of every day, because I'm not about to have stinky boys running around my house.. My little brother takes only baths and not showers. I learned to shower myself at 4 maybe 5 years old. He came to my apartment and CRIED when I forced him to take a shower. I told him what to do, step by step, and told him to tell for a towel and I will bring it. No right year old should be crying when forced to take a shower, or need help doing so unless they are sick or something... It really upsets me. Since he was four I told my mom she needed to change this and refused to help with bathe or wipe or clean up after himself. Its a shame. She still helps him. Almost nine years old....

Pure laziness I tell you... This is one of the many reasons my son will not grow up here. I guess I'm glad for the way my parents did everything they did, because at least I know what NOT to do 😂

@babymay2016, WOW! My 9-year-old can shower shampoo her hair, and take care of all her hygiene since maybe age 6! Always needs a bit of help with her hair afterward but she had the basics early. It's not good for them to not be able to clean themselves because some adults take advantage of that, nasty pediphiles.

Yes. It is very wrong. My mother still helps him with almost everything, and he acts as though he is incapable now. He can not tie his shoes, he does not wipe properly, cannot bathe himself... I get so mad at him tripping over his laces and literally have to ask him if he went to the restroom, and tell him that he needs to go recheck himself because I can smell poop. I have over the years tried to help him more than you can imagine, but he gets SO mad. I would be mad too if I was 8 and couldn't do all the things other kids do. Pure laziness. I refuse to help him or see him naked, which would be required to help him with things of that nature. I have explained that NOBODY can see his privates except for a doctor or he could talk to my dad if he was worried or confused about something, but I just think it's so wrong and confusing for my mother to still help him. It is PURELY her fault for not teaching him and giving into his anger and letting him be completely incapable. It makes me sick. I been trying to prevent all this for four years, but she tells me to mind my own business. Hahah that's cool until he is a teenager still needing help, and when he is staying at my place and I will force him to act his age and take a shower because he is starting to grow and he stinks.

I could fully take a shower on my own when I was five years old, with NO help. And showered every day. My dad put a chair in the bathtub, showed me how to wash my hair, and I never asked again. Don't know where they went wrong in raising my brothers!!!
