My son won't. When I try to get him to take the boob he bites down and pulls it out of his mouth

Each baby is different, but I've been able to switch back and forth with no issues. I have a preemie and I guess people say it's harder to breastfeed but whenever I give him bottles he still chows down.

I switch back and forth and he doesn't have problems :) he was premature too and took bottles for a while before I offered my breast

My daughter goes from bottle to boob no problem

Why are you using a nipple shield? And what is it like using it ?

The hospital lactating nurse suggested I wear one because my nipples are flat/small. And I don't know how to explain how it feels. It just hurts sometimes when he latches on. I wish I didn't have to use it then maybe it wouldn't be so painful. With the nipple shield, he latches directly on the nipple :/ he can't put any of the areola in his mouth. @peaceinfall
